As a Back-of-House Staff member in a fish and chips store, your primary responsibility is to ensure the smooth and efficient operations of the kitchen and food preparation areas. You will play a crucial role in maintaining food quality, cleanliness, and adherence to food safety standards. Your duties and responsibilities may include, but are not limited to, the following:
1. Food Preparation: Prepare and cook fish, chips, and other menu items following standardized recipes and cooking procedures. Ensure that all dishes are prepared to meet quality and taste standards.

2. Fryer Operation: Operate deep fryers to cook fish, chips, and other items to the required level of crispiness and doneness.

3. Ingredient Management: Monitor and restock ingredients and supplies, such as fish, potatoes, batter, seasonings, and condiments, to ensure the kitchen is adequately stocked for continuous service.

4. Food Safety: Adhere strictly to food safety and hygiene guidelines, including proper handwashing, wearing appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE), and maintaining a clean and sanitary work environment.

5. Kitchen Organization: Keep the kitchen and food preparation areas clean, organized, and well-maintained at all times. Clean work surfaces, equipment, and utensils regularly.

6. Order Fulfillment: Work closely with the front-of-house staff to ensure timely and accurate order fulfillment, meeting customer expectations.

7. Quality Control: Regularly inspect food items for quality, presentation, and consistency. Address any issues with food preparation or presentation promptly.

8. Equipment Maintenance: Report any malfunctioning equipment to the management and assist in minor maintenance tasks as needed.

9. Waste Management: Properly handle and dispose of food waste and kitchen refuse in accordance with waste management guidelines.

10. Teamwork: Collaborate with other kitchen staff members and maintain effective communication to ensure a smoothly functioning kitchen.

11. Multitasking: Be capable of handling multiple tasks and maintaining composure during busy periods.

**Requirements**:

- Basic knowledge of food safety and hygiene practices.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment while maintaining attention to detail and quality.
- Physical stamina to stand for extended periods and lift heavy objects if necessary.
- Good communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team.
- Flexibility in working hours, as this role may require evening, weekend, and holiday shifts.
