**The Department**:
The Pharmacy service operates over 4 sites within Northern Health and has a strong vision to deliver exceptional, evidenced-based care to our patients - with a clear focus on research, medication safety and clinical excellence. We are currently undergoing a large period of expansion and specialisation, creating exciting opportunities for individuals keen to challenge themselves and progress their professional knowledge and skills.

**The Role**:
A permanent full-time opportunity exists for a **Pharmacy Technician** **Grade 2** **(Dispensary)** to join the team at Northern Health.

This pharmacy technician role is an integral part of our growing team, which comprises of over 80 pharmacists and close to 30 technicians. The successful applicant will join a very supportive operational team, providing medication management and supply services covering a wide-range of patient cohorts and clinics.

**Key responsibilities will include**:

- Providing pharmacy services by working as part of the dispensary team to efficiently supply medicines to patients in all areas of the hospital.
- Management of pharmaceutical inventory from expiry checks, ordering, receipting and stock replenishment
- Work in accordance with the pharmacy standard operating procedures
- Support other pharmacy services such as the clinical service and participate in quallity imporvement and research pactivities
- Mentoring and supervising pharmacy technicians, pharmacy interns and undergraduate students, as well as providing education to staff from other disciplines

**To be successful in this role you will have**:

- Comleted or currently completing Certificate III in Health (Hospital Pharmacy Technician) or equivalent qualification. Must be completed within 18 months of commencing in the role.
- Ability to produce a service of excellence by use of Quality Improvement techniques and be familiar with National Standards Accreditation requirements
- Previous exposure to a broad range of pharmacy services in the general hospital field.
- Good time management and organisational skills are a must.
