We are seeking a motivated Technical Officer: Exercise Science to provide high quality technical support for undergraduate practicals in the discipline of Exercise Science & Physiology, which includes the preparation of the laboratories and resources for teaching, and maintenance and calibration of equipment.

The Faculty of Science, Medicine and Health (SMAH) comprises of the Schools of Science; Medical, Indigenous and Health Sciences; Nursing; and the Graduate School of Medicine. The Exercise Science & Physiology Laboratories provide state of the art learning opportunities for students within the School of Medical, Indigenous & Health Sciences. The laboratories include technical equipment for teaching in areas such as Exercise Physiology, Exercise Prescription, Biomechanics and Neuromechanics. The Laboratories are supported by a small team of uniquely skilled staff.

To be successful you will have completed tertiary study in a related field such as Exercise Science, Medical Science or Applied Science or have an equivalent combination of education, training and experience. A good understanding of practical skills used to monitor human physiological performance and movement is preferred, as well as sound communication, client service and interpersonal skills. Your previous experience in setting up equipment required for teaching practical/laboratory classes in a tertiary education setting, preferably but not limited to, disciplines of medical and health sciences will be highly regarded.

Special Job Requirements:

- You may be required to work outside standard business hours or occasionally weekends, as dictated by the Laboratory Timetable and operational requirements.
- Manual handling and exposure to sharps in a risk-controlled environment will be a regular part of this role.
