**About the role**
The Learning and Development Specialist has responsibility and accountability for all Learning and Development (L and D) activity within tna. Reporting into the **Chief People & Culture Officer **, this is a newly created, hands on and dynamic role, which involves coordinating L and D activity across the Company. Additionally, this role is responsible for leading the design and implementation of new L and D initiatives and projects as well as helping promote best practice in our policies and processes to encourage focused and effective development for our people.
**Key responsibilities & Duties**
- Work closely with the Chief P&C Officer and various leaders across the organisation to design, develop and implement learning strategies and programs that are aligned with the organization’s objectives.
- Evaluate individual and organisational development needs as well as assess the success of development plans to help employees make the most of learning opportunities.
- Track budgets, negotiates contracts, build and maintain relationships with third-party training providers and explore all aspects of learning resources and solutions proactively.
- Design and implement new and existing L and D projects to both instil best employment practice but also realise tna’s immediate and long-term objectives.
- Establish strong partnerships with the business to gain a strong understanding of current business issues and opportunities, as related to learning and development.
- Deliver (specific) training to various parts of the business and work with various stakeholders to coordinate and organize training sessions.
- Manage various leadership & talent development projects for succession planning in an end-to-end manner for tna globally.
- Keep abreast with the latest leadership and change development trends and methodologies with various training organizations, consultants, tertiary institutions, etc.
- All of the above initiatives will need to be combined into an internal “tna academy” which utilises the development and learning strengths of our own workforce.
**Qualifications, work experience and knowledge**
- Bachelor's or Graduate's Degree in business, business administration, Communications or Human Resources.
- At least 5-7 years proven experience as an L&D Manager in a Capital Machinery Industry, or Technical Training Manager (or similar).
- Current / up-to-date knowledge of effective learning and development methodologies.
- Digitally literate with proficiency in MS Office, CRM, and Learning Management Systems (LMS), including f amiliarity with a range of e-learning platforms.
**Skills, Abilities & Attributes**
- Ability to effectively present information to small and large groups, employees, management
- Experience in project management & budgeting,
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills; with a demonstrated ability to build rapport with employees and vendors.
- Up to date with the latest L&D developments (theory and technology) and best practices; able to articulate these clearly and confidently to other team members,
- Professional Training certification is a plus.
