Penola Catholic College is a co-educational College centered on quality contemporary and learning practices and the values of St Mary MacKillop. The College is seeking a new staff member with a passion for building student wellbeing and learning capacity. The position will work in a dynamic team addressing the social, emotional and mental health needs of young people.
Previous experience in a similar role is not essential and a secondment will be considered through our system.
The successful applicant will be a member of the School Leadership Team.
This position will attract a 3-point higher duties paid allocation with 0.3 FTE time release, and all teaching KLA areas will be considered.
**Position Criteria**
The successful person will be responsible for:
- Facilitating the development of the Pastoral Care and Wellbeing program Years 7-12 with the Wellbeing Team
- Working strategically in an authentic and dynamic partnership supporting the wellbeing and learning responsibilities with Year Leaders of Learning
- Developing proactive and responsive strategic plans to promote positive student wellbeing and student management strategies
- Designing targeted programs to address social, emotional interventions and mental health/wellbeing needs of students and their families
- Co-developing student risk management behaviour and/or attendance plans with the Wellbeing Team members, Counsellor Diversity leader, Leadership Team and CSPD system leaders
- A current CV
- Nominated professional referees, must be two
- Current Working with Children’s Check
Catholic Schools Parramatta Diocese provides quality learning and teaching in a faith-centred environment across 80 primary and secondary schools and within early learning and out of school hours care centres in Western Sydney.
