**About the role.**:
We're seeking a passionate and dynamic individual to join us as a Principal Project Officer, Portfolio Engagement. In this pivotal role, you will be at the forefront of shaping and implementing initiatives that support the NSW government's commitments to Closing the Gap. As a leader in the Delivery Office, you will be responsible for the development, implementation, and delivery of a diverse range of engagement strategies aimed at achieving tangible outcomes aligned with the National Agreement on Closing the Gap and our organisational objectives.

Your role as the Principal Project Officer, Portfolio Engagement will be multifaceted and impactful. You will be developing, evaluating, and reporting on innovative approaches to support government commitments, ensuring that Closing the Gap initiatives are at the forefront of driving positive change. From overseeing all aspects of project management, including preparing business cases and supporting governance structures, to representing the Department's position at various forums and providing expert advice to stakeholders, you'll be instrumental in driving forward our mission.

- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to prepare high-quality written material on complex policy issues.
- Proven experience in stakeholder engagement and negotiation, including representing organisational positions at various levels.
- Ability to critically analyse complex policy issues and provide sound recommendations to support decision-making.
- Demonstrated understanding and sensitivity to issues impacting Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.
- Strategic thinking and problem-solving abilities, with a focus on achieving project outcomes aligned with organisational objectives.
- Flexibility and adaptability to navigate through complex, cross-portfolio, and inter-governmental matters.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to effectively lead and motivate a team towards achieving project objectives.
- Excellent project management abilities, including the capability to develop, evaluate, and report on innovative approaches.

**Salary**:Clerk Grade 11/12. Package includes base salary ($145,378 - $168,130) plus employer's contribution to superannuation and annual leave loading.
