The volunteer thrift Shop Cleaning Team Member provides operational support through maintaining the facilities to a standard which will provide a positive and welcoming experience for clients, workers and visitors and to develop and update facilities under direction of the site Manger to create a safe, tidy and aesthetically pleasing environment. The Thrift shop Cleaning Team Leader works alongside the Thrift Shop Cleaning Team Member.

Time and Roster Commitment

As agreed with the Line Manager.

Key Tasks Key Activities and Expectations

Undertake General Cleaning Activities
- As directed by the Thrift Shop Cleaning Team Leader, undertakes general cleaning activities to a standard that will provide a welcoming experience for staff, clients and visitors.
- Floor cleaning; vacuum carpeted areas, mop other areas.
- Dusting; dust staff office areas, common reception area, foyer and other common areas.
- Bathroom duties; clean bathroom basins and stalls as weekly schedule. Re-stock supplies from supply cupboard.
- Kitchen duties; wash and dry dishes, wipe down benches, fridge, ovens and other equipment as required.
- Rubbish removal; empty bins, both garbage and recycling.
- Maintain a clean and hygienic environment.
- Building maintained in a clean, safe and aesthetically pleasing manner.
- Exhibiting professional image of the Salvation Army.

Clean Windows as required.

Personal Protection Equipment(PPE)
- Actively use appropriate PPE at all times when completing activities.
- Monitor condition of PPE and address issues with equipment with the manager.
- Understand appropriate use of Personal Protection Equipment.

Maintaining Equipment
- Monitor condition of equipment and address issues with equipment with the manager.
- Ensure equipment is safe to use and working correctly.
- Ensure calendar of Electrical testing and tagging by professional services is carried out when required by OH&S.

Maintain a Safe and Healthy Environment
- Immediately report any health and safety concerns, notifiable incidents and near misses, to Senior Team Leader and ensure any hazards are controlled until rectified.
- Ensure hazard, incident and accident form is completed when required in a timely manner.

Qualifications and Experience Requirements for the Position
- Experience in a similar role highly regarded.

Mandatory Requirements of the Position
- Complete TSA Mission Volunteer induction, training and registration. TSA is a ChildSafe organisation.
- Integrity checks as required for the role.
