Volunteer Opportunity: Thrift Shop Cleaning Team Member

About the Role

We are seeking a compassionate and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Thrift Shop Cleaning Team Member. In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining a clean and welcoming environment for clients, staff, and visitors.

Your primary duties will include general cleaning activities, dusting of staff office areas and common reception space, cleaning bathroom facilities, re-stocking supplies, washing dishes, emptying bins, and maintaining a clean and hygienic environment.

You will also be responsible for actively using Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) at all times when completing tasks, monitoring the condition of PPE, ensuring equipment is safe to use, and reporting any health and safety concerns or near misses to your supervisor.

Key Responsibilities
  • Undertake general cleaning activities to maintain a welcoming environment
  • Dust staff office areas, common reception space, foyer, and other common areas
  • Clean bathroom facilities and re-stock supplies
  • Wash and dry dishes, wipe down benches, fridge, ovens, and other equipment
  • Empty bins and maintain a clean and hygienic environment
  • Maintain a clean and functional workspace
Requirements
  • Experience in a similar role highly regarded
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow procedures
  • Ability to lift up to 25 kg
