**Archivist**

Are you passionate about maintaining and upholding access to State records? Are you solutions-focused with a clear eye for detail? We are looking for an organised and engaging Archivist who can assist a wide-range of clients with enquiries and support the transfer and preservation of State archives in the MHNSW Collections. You will be joining a specialised and professional team that supports MHNSW to achieve its goals.

**What the opportunity is**:

- Employment with Museums of History NSW, NSW Department of Enterprise, Investment and Trade.
- Archivist Grade 1 - $103,773. Package includes salary ($70,694 - $92,366), employer's contribution to superannuation and annual leave loading.
- Full-time temporary employment for up to 2 years with the possibility of ongoing at a future date.
- The role will work across Sydney.

**What we do**
MHNSW brings together the museums, historic houses and associated collections previously in the care of Sydney Living Museums with the vast collection of more than 13 million items held by the former NSW State Archives. This includes one of the world’s most complete and important collections documenting colonisation.

**What you’ll do with us**
This role will undertake a wide variety of operational archival, clerical and administrative tasks and projects in relation to the State Archives Collection managed by MHNSW and its associated access, promotion, systems, programs, and public office queries across a multi-disciplinary team.

**What the essential requirements of the role are**
- Possession of qualifications acceptable for professional membership of the Australian Society of Archivists (ASA) or other combination of qualifications and experience deemed by the agency head or Public Service Commission to be equivalent, that meet the minimum standards inherent in the ASA standard.
- Ability to participate in a rostered working arrangement in accordance with the provisions of the Flexible Working Agreement, which may include after hours or weekend work.
