Our Client is a well-respected Local Government and community service located in Perth CBD.
They are seeking an Risk and Business Continuity Officer to hit the ground running for a 3-6 month period with possible extension.

**Location: Perth CBD**
**Payrate: Negotiable dependent on experience**
**Start date: ASAP**
**Finish date: Full-time Temporary 3-6 month contract**
**hours: Office hours are typically 8:30am - 5pm with an hour lunch however there may be some flexibility with these times. 38 hour work week Monday to Friday with some weekend/overtime/toil for events required on occasion.**

**Summary of the Position**
The Risk and Business Continuity Officer supports the Audit and Risk Service Area in driving Corporate Risk Management throughout the City to ensure that risks that could affect the achievement of the City's objectives are identified, analysed and managed in accordance with professionally recognised best practice standards.
The position supports the implementation and ongoing management of a Business Continuity Management programme that brings resilience for the organisation in ensuring the organisation can deliver vital services during periods of unexpected crisis.
The Risk and Business Continuity Officer provides administrative support and advice on risk management and business continuity matters as required.

**Responsibilities**
Risk Management
- Refreshing the City's operational risks by working collaboratively with all levels of staff and management in a timely manner.
- In collaboration with the Risk & Business Continuity Officer, completing the quarterly risk updates for the whole organisation in a timely manner.
- Working with the Risk & Business Continuity Officer to regularly review and update the Risk Management Framework and it's supporting documentation.
- Working closely with the different business units to assist with developing and managing risks on projects.
- Working closely with the Internal Audit Coordinator to determine and update the risk profile of the City.
- Updating and maintaining the accuracy and integrity of information in the City's risk software system (CGR).
- Preparing risk reports for the Executive Leadership Team (ELT) and Audit and Risk Committee (ARC).
- Improving risk awareness and understanding within the City.

Business Continuity Management
- Working closely with the Risk & Business Continuity Officer to coordinate, review and implement (including testing) of the City's Business Continuity and Crisis Plans.
- Supporting General Managers and Alliance Managers in the development and maintenance of their business continuity plans.

**Essential Criteria**
- A minimum of 2 years' experience in risk management.
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a team and with stakeholders at all levels.
- Demonstrated ability to effectively manage competing deadlines and workloads and provide a high level of service.
- Demonstrated ability to undertake analysis on large amounts of data and translate into easy to understand information.
- Demonstrated ability to develop a range of communication including reports, procedures, policies and presentations.
- Highly developed written and verbal communication skills.
- Highly developed interpersonal skills.
- Understanding of current Risk Management principles and practices with specific reference to AS/NZS ISO 31000:2009.
- Understanding of business continuity principles and practices.

**Desirable Criteria**
- A qualification in a relevant industry area.
- Local or state government experience.
- Experience with the CGR system.
