Apprenticeship Careers Australia (ACA) is the leading employer of apprentices and trainees. We help mentor and support the trainees and apprentices through employment and vocational education pathways.

ACA has partnered with an amazing organisation that provides support to vulnerable people and families within our communities. They provide assistance to people within their homes and the community by helping them with daily duties and activities.

ACA are currently looking for passionate people that are looking to kickstart a career by beginning a traineeship as a Community Support Worker. We are looking to gain another two outstanding members to our team within Nowra, Gerringong, Gerroa and Berry.

During this traineeship you will be supporting elderly clients and people living with disabilities by providing assistance from cooking, cleaning, bathing, shopping, dispensing medications, assisting during appointments and just being overall support for their mental wellbeing.

Successful applicants will be committing to 24 months of part-time (Minimum 15 hours per week) work whilst completing 3 hours of paid study time per week in order to gain a qualification in Individual Support - Home and Community Certificate

What we are looking for:

- Someone that wants to make a difference in the life of an individual requiring support
- Flexible to work varied shifts (min. 15hrs per week with expectation to increase hours as your skills develop)
- Someone that is patient
- Passionate, respectful and empathetic
- Motivated and eager to learn
- Able to use initiative
- Willing to complete a Certificate III in Individual Support
- Looking for an opportunity to build a career path

Checks/Certificate & Clearances you will need prior to commencing:

- National Police Check
- Flu Vaccination (documentation must be presented)
- Full COVID vaccinations + Boosters
- Current First Aid and CPR Certificate
- Working with Children Check
- NDIS Worker Screen Check
- Australian Citizen or Permanent Resident
- Willing to commit to completing a Certificate III in Individual Support
- Driver’s licence and reliable comprehensively insured vehicle
- Lives locally in the within these areas: Nowra, Gerringong, Gerroa and Berry.
