**Part-time | 4 days a week | Weekend work essential | Opportunity to grow into full-time**

The Merricks Store is on the lookout for a warm, enthusiastic, dynamic and sales-focused **Cellar Door Manager** to join our team. Located on the beautiful Mornington Peninsula, **The Merricks Store** is a much-loved destination for food, wine and relaxed charm. Alongside our bustling café and restaurant, we proudly operate a cellar door showcasing** Elgee Park and Baillieu wines**, as well as a curated selection of other standout local producers.

Our wine tasting offering captures a large selection of the Peninsula’s finest wines — it’s about sharing stories, building on relationships, and creating a welcoming space for both wine lovers and newcomers alike.

**The Role**

As our Cellar Door Manager, you’ll lead the front line of our wine experience. Your role will focus on but not limited to:

- Delivering exceptional customer service with a strong focus on wine sales
- Managing and assist in training the cellar door team to ensure a welcoming, knowledgeable, and efficient service
- Working closely with our Sales & Marketing Manager on promotions, wine lists, tastings, events, and wine initiatives
- Overseeing stock management, wine club orders, and online wine sales
- Supporting the broader front-of-house team to ensure smooth service throughout the venue

This is a hands-on role where your energy, passion for hospitality, and ability to drive sales will shine.

**What We’re Looking For**

At least a moderate level of wine knowledge — We value, enthusiasm, friendliness and a natural flair for service and sales more than technical knowledge (though a love of wine helps).

You’ll bring:

- Weekend availability (essential)
- A current RSA
- Previous experience in hospitality or customer-facing roles
- Confidence in using systems and learning new processes quickly
- A warm, engaging personality and strong sense of initiative
- The ability to stay calm and upbeat in a busy environment
- A healthy respect for inventory and the bottom line
- Skilled in bringing out the best in the team
- Genuine love of people and a love of our industry

The following experience will be looked upon favourably;

- Previous roles within the wine industry
