The role of the Control Management Consultant is to contribute to the delivery of the Insurance Claims and Operations (ICO) and Insurance Portfolio and Product (IPP) control testing program enabling the detection and prevention of unintended risks.

**Objectives include**:

- Review and testing of controls within ICO and IPP to provide management with a view of control effectiveness and to identify improvement areas.
- Provide clarity around best-practice risk culture for ICO and IPP and drive improved risk maturity for control management.
- Effective relationship management and training to support ICO and IPP Executives in understanding their risk accountabilities and to uplift knowledge of the control environment within all teams.
- Support ICO and IPP to identify and implement control strategies, achieving the right balance between risk reduction and cost to implement.
- Develop and drive consistent ways of working within the ICO and IPP Control Management Team

**More specifically, you will**:

- Contributing to the delivery of the ICO and IPP control testing program and support subsequent remediation activity. This includes assessing controls to determine their effectiveness in supporting compliance with;
- Suncorp Policies and Procedures; and
- Relevant Insurance laws and regulations (including State Scheme requirements).
- Investigate opportunities across ICO and IPP to identify cost effective strategies to improve the control environment. This includes supporting the development and implementation of Insurance-wide control frameworks.
- Advise (as SME) on the development of new controls during risk profiling exercises, value-chain impacts, projects and other change initiatives.
- Co-ordination of reporting requests and submissions to risk committees (e.g., INFRC)
- Contribute to the preparation of the yearly ICO and IPP risk maturity controls review, and design actions to drive uplift for Insurance.
- Define and document consistent processes for the ICO and IPP Control Management Team, including how the team supports projects, delivers control tests and tracks remediation activities.
- Drive team planning, work tracking and support reporting for the ICO and IPP Controls Management Team.
- Deliver ICO and IPP-wide control analysis and ad-hoc control related requests from the ICO and IPP Leadership Team and Business Risk Partners

**About You**:

- Relevant degree in Business, Law or related field - Desired
- ISO 31000: Risk Management training - Desired
- Minimum three (3) year appropriate industry experience in general insurance.
- Minimum one (1) year experience within Risk or Internal/External Audit related business area(s).

- Base level risk knowledge - sound understanding of risk and control practices.
- Base level insurance/finance knowledge - sound understanding of the insurance/finance products, industry, market environment and customer segment.
