**GENERAL ACCOUNTABILITY**:
The Workshop Technician’s main role will be to undertake repairs and maintain equipment such as elevating work platforms, telescopic handlers, skid steers and forklifts. The requirement will be to work on DC electrical systems, hydraulic systems as well as mechanical equipment such as engines motors and production machine equipment by performing the following duties listed below:
**DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES**:
Fault finding, repairs and services on Manitou Center customer and internal machines, including but not limited to:

- Diesel and petrol engines
- Diesel, petrol and LPG fuel systems
- Steering systems
- Transmissions - hydrostatic, powershift and manual
- Brake systems
- Hydraulic valves and cylinders
- Electrical starting, charging and accessories
- Service and diagnostic repairs
- To account for parts used on jobs by ensuring they are entered on service/repair reports
- Ensure unused parts are returned back to stock at job completion, following process
- To document any items requiring attention while servicing equipment and report to the supervisor as required
- Liaise with spare parts team to determine parts required for repairs
- To complete repair and services within reasonable time frames
- To process workshop service/repair documentation on a daily basis
- To present yourself in a professional manner at all times
- To be available for overtime when required
- Work in a safe manner, use Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) provided and comply with requirements of the current Occupational Safety and Health (OS&H) legislation
- Maintain good housekeeping
- Other duties as directed
- Liaise with spare parts team to determine parts required for repairs
- Use Manitou systems and tools to log job status, service and repair reports, consult documentation, escalate issues etc.

**EXPERTISE**:

- Excellent interpersonal relationship and customer focused.
- Good verbal and written communication skills
- Self-motivated
- Good technical background experience in hydraulics and electrics for supporting machinery: e.g.: telescopic handlers, forklift, tractors, earthmoving equipment, etc.
- Solid analysing and problem-solving skills to troubleshoot technical problems
- Good Team spirit, experience working in a small team is an advantage
