Due to growth at Macquarie University Special Education Centre (MUSEC), we are excited to welcome 2 new Classroom Assistants to our dedicated Special Education team in 2025. Join us in helping primary-aged students reach their full potential while working alongside a supportive and professional team.
- Salary package: HEW 2 including 17% employer’s superannuation and annual leave loading
- Appointment type: 2x full-time, fixed-term (part-time flexibility will be considered)
- Location: Macquarie University, Wallumattagal Campus (North Ryde)

The Role

Macquarie University Special Education Centre (MUSEC)

in the position of Classroom Assistant as MUSEC expands with an additional classes and programs in 2025.

You will assist in creating a learning environment for primary aged students with special learning needs, including mild or moderate intellectual disability, autism, and/or a language disability. You will work closely in a team with other professionals to support the development of each child to their maximum potential in academic and classroom self-management skills.
- Key Accountabilities_
- Assist Classroom Teacher in all aspects of the teaching and learning program in the classroom;
- Assist and support students with personal care if required;
- Produce resources and teaching materials as required;
- Supervise students on excursions, incursions, playground and transport duties.

About You
You will have a Certificate III Qualification in Disability and/or Classroom Support and proven experience working with children and/or young people with special learning needs. Your experience working with young people with special learning needs has equipped you with strong interpersonal skills, effective communication skills and an ability to work collaboratively with students, staff, and the community.
