We are seeking an enthusiastic and experienced Workplace Health and Safety Officer to join our corporate team based in Brisbane. In this role, you’ll play a vital part in promoting a safety-first culture and ensuring compliance with WHS legislation. You will have the opportunity to shape safety practices, influence policies, and positively impact the safety and wellbeing of our teams and the wider community.

**What would I be doing?**
- Working collaboratively with Business Unit Managers, Regional and Service Managers, Supervisors and HSRs, providing advice and mentoring regarding proactive safety management and incident investigation.
- Investigating workplace incidents, analysing root causes, and supporting the implementation corrective actions.
- Analysing safety data collected to identify emerging safety risks and trends.
- Monitoring and reviewing CPL Group’s WHSMS policies and procedures to ensure practicality, relevance, and compliance to WHS legislation and relevant regulations.
- Conducting scheduled safety audits and site inspections and monitoring the close out of corrective actions for the purpose of continuously improving CPL Group’s work health and safety performance and safety culture.
- Assisting in the creation and review of Risk Assessments & Safe Work Method Statements.
- Support the administration of the Work Health and Safety team, including responding to safety enquiries and requests.

Implement, conduct and evaluate work health and safety training that builds staff capability to achieve continuous improvement.**To Be Successful in This Role, You Will Need**:

- Appropriate qualifications held or working towards WHS certification.
- High-level interpersonal skills and the ability to build strong relationships and influence positive safety outcomes
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong organisational and time management skills.
- Experience in conducting risk assessments and incident investigations.
- Ability to analyse safety performance data, incident and risk trends.
- Knowledge of contemporary WHS practices and legislation.
- Demonstrated ability to develop and implement WHS procedures and training programs.
