Specialist Geriatrician

**Position**
The Department is seeking interest from a suitably qualified applicant for Staff Specialist (Geriatric Medicine) vacancies to provide specialist geriatric medicine services.
**General Medicine/Geriatric Specialists also considered.**

A remuneration package comprising the Agreement base salary, relevant allowances and other entitlements will be negotiated with the successful applicant dependent on clinical experience and seniority.

**Hospital**
The Hospital is the State’s tertiary referral centre and is also the primary teaching hospital for the University of Tasmania School of Medicine. The Hospital provides most specialist medical services for the region or state.

The Department of Geriatric Medicine has Staff Specialists with a range of clinical, teaching and research interests and experience. This is a supportive, coherent and highly functioning team which is motivated to meet the service needs of the community and to promote education and innovation in Geriatric Care.

The Department is actively involved in clinical redesign to improve the older person’s journey within their organisation and is involved in interstate research collaborations in Dementia and Parkinson’s Disease. They participate in monthly regional outreach clinical services.

**Requirements**:
Fellow of The Royal College of Physicians (FRACP - Geriatrics) or 6 months from attaining Fellowship.
IMGs who have had their specialist training assessed by the RACP and found to be 'substantially comparable' or experienced consultants who are eligible for assessment.
