A Strategic Property Advisor role to assist the second-largest council in Australia, on a 20hr week basis
**Your new company**
The Office of the Chief Investment Officer (CIO) is responsible for the:

- Promotion and attraction of investment to the city through a targeted investment portfolio
- Facilitation of major Council investment opportunities
- Case-management of private sector investment projects or joint partnerships
- Management of and response to unsolicited proposals to the City

The CIO is responsible for the coordination, identification, promotion, attraction and facilitation of investments that best leverage City of Gold Coast advantages and resource opportunities. The CIO manages the City’s investment portfolio and is the single point of contact for major or strategic private sector investment.

**Your new role**
As the Strategic Property Advisor, you will be reporting directly to the Coordinator City Projects. This role will contribute to the strategic management of the City’s property portfolio including planning, developing, implementing, managing and evaluating strategies.
- Develop, implement and manage corporate real estate functions including acquisitions, disposals and leasing on a local-wide basis.
- Ensure that property transactions comply with relevant legislative, statutory and policy frameworks and corporate real estate requirements, and contribute to the development of relevant agency policy as required
- Establish and maintain the corporate real estate management information and reporting systems to enable regular, timely and quality reporting to a range of key stakeholders.
- Provide advice including commercial advice on land held by the City and identified for use for a major development, which will include preparing the land for market processes.
- Identify and research potential land for acquisition by the City to advance strategic industry sectors and provide advice to support negotiations.
- Review and provide advice on major City land holdings and their best use, as well as opportunities to improve them.

**What you'll need to succeed**
- To be successful in this role, you will possess extensive experience in property-related major developments
- You will have proven ability to effectively lead and manage project deliverables, business priorities and timeframes within a complex and changing environment.
- Your proven research and analytical skills and past success in establishing, developing and maintaining productive relationships with internal and external stakeholders will further ensure your success in this role
- Additionally, you will have strong knowledge of the Gold Coast property sector and possess an understanding of the public sector governance culture and processes
