**ABOUT THE ROLE**:
Public Sector People (PSP) are seeking an experienced Audit and Risk professional on behalf of a Local Council in Western Sydney. This is a 6-month contract with an opportunity to become permanent. You will be supervising and leading the audit team to ensure programmed audits are satisfactorily completed.

**WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING**:

- Developing audit programs that address key strategic risks, challenges, process improvement opportunities and, aligning to Council's strategic directions
- Providing advice to directors and managers about implementing strategic and operational, risk and identified improvement opportunities
- Risk Management
- Monitoring implementation progress
- Managing the Audit, Risk and Improvement Committee Work Plan

**WHAT YOU'LL BRING**:

- Relevant postgraduate degree and/or Certified Internal Auditor designation
- Familiarity with accounting standards and practices and audit requirement applicable to local government
- Managing external providers in delivery of Internal Audit services
- Knowledge and practical skills in computer assisted audit techniques
