Court Services Victoria provides corporate services and facilities to support the performance of the judicial, quasi-judicial and administrative functions of Victoria's courts and tribunal, Judicial College and Judicial Commission.
Collectively, Victoria's Supreme, County, Magistrates', Children's, and Coroners courts, the Victorian Civil and Administrative Tribunal (VCAT), the Judicial College of Victoria, the Judicial Commission of Victoria, and Court Services Victoria (CSV) are referred to as the 'Courts Group'.

The Magistrates' Court of Victoria (MCV) is a jurisdiction within the Court Services Victoria statutory authority and has a long history of providing justice for the people of Victoria in metropolitan and regional courts across the state. The Court determines in excess of 300,000 cases per annum at 51 venues, equating to approximately 90 percent of all cases that come before Victorian courts each year. The Court aims to be an innovative, accessible, and responsive court that provides quality services to the Victorian community.
MCV is responsible for delivery of 26 of the 227 recommendations from the 2015 Royal Commission into Family Violence (RCFV) and is impacted by the delivery of approximately 100 other RCFV recommendations. MCV has a strong commitment to improving the safety of families living with violence engaged with the court and working as part of an integrated response. The implementation of these recommendations is strengthening MCV's capacity to achieve this goal.
**About the Role**
The Court Operations Officer is responsible for providing operational support to the local Specialist Family Violence Court (SFVC) team within the MCV family violence jurisdiction including contributing towards projects and process improvements that support the operations of the court, its judiciary and its workforce.
Key accountabilities include:
- Developing, implementing, and coordinating efficient operational and administrative processes including document tracking and control and proactively creating and implementing new systems to streamline processes as required.
- Developing and maintaining essential business documents including but not limited to; work plans and reports, organisational charts, contact lists, information databases and tracking systems.
- Liaising with the judiciary, external organisations, groups and individuals that interface with the court.
- Operating relevant computer systems, including case-management systems such as Courtlink and other technologies such as PowerApps ensuring information is captured accurately.
- Under direction of SFVC Manager and FV Registrar, facilitating referrals to court-based support services and community-based service providers attending the court.
**About You**
- Professional experience within an administrative and/or customer service role.
- Qualifications within a relevant field such as business administration, law, justice, or social work would be highly regarded.
- Experience in coordinating administrative and operational support processes within a challenging work environment
- Demonstrated experience in the identification and implementation of process improvements.
- The ability to work autonomously, taking initiative and contributing to the efficient functioning of a broader team.
