Workshop Labourer with Forklift Licence

**About**

Our client is a market leading organisation based in Kewdale, Perth involved in heavy mechanical repairs mostly for the mining industry. They are looking for a reliable energetic and helpful person to join their team of dedicated tradesmen and assist in keeping the workshop and machinery clean as well as strapping and wrapping goods for despatch. You will join a small team performing similar duties in a large, comfortable workshop.

They are particularly looking for individuals who have good mechanical aptitude, looking for a long term, full time position and want to be involved. The more you learn and get involved, there is good opportunity to grow your skills.

**Daily Duties Include**
- Moving components using a forklift and an overhead crane, including loading and unloading trucks.
- Preparing components for despatch.
- Using a motorised floor scrubber to remove oil from the floor
- Shoveling metal shavings from around heavy machinery.
- Cleaning machinery
- Pressure washing large components
- Assist in rigging up heavy objects.
- Using overhead cranes to move heavy objects around the workshop
- Any other tasks as directed by supervisors

Your role will grow based on your willingness to learn and may even progress to a trade position should you demonstrate commitment and a hard working attitude.

**Key Qualifications**:

- Must be a competent forklift driver and hold an up to date forklift licence.
- Current WA drivers licence (a 6 ton truck licence would be advantageous).
- Experience in using a 3 ton gantry crane and basic rigging using slings and chains.
- Must have the right to live and work in Australia permanently.

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

**Salary**: $43,000.00 - $70,000.00 per year
