The role
This role is responsible for implementing procurement strategies that maximize value and ensure effective supplier management. Key responsibilities include developing category insights, supporting strategic sourcing initiatives, and overseeing supplier performance to drive efficiency and cost-effectiveness. The position requires collaboration with stakeholders to align procurement activities with organizational priorities while ensuring compliance with governance standards. Additionally, the role contributes to knowledge sharing, risk management, and continuous improvement to enhance procurement outcomes across Queensland Health.
Success in this position requires expertise in leading complex tenders, negotiating long-term agreements, and managing supplier relationships. The ability to analyze market trends, resolve performance issues, and support internal stakeholders in procurement processes is essential. Strong communication, teamwork, and problem-solving skills are vital, along with a proactive approach to improving procurement practices. While formal qualifications in procurement or project management are not mandatory, relevant experience is highly regarded. Travel to Queensland Health facilities may be required.
