Our role sits within the **Strategic Infrastructure Planning **department which is charged with the responsibility to produce and manage the implementation of strategic infrastructure planning and policy frameworks, integrated infrastructure network strategies, plans and projects and the development and amendment of Local Government Infrastructure Plan.

**About the Opportunity**:
As our **_Principal Strategic Infrastructure Planner - Flooding and Drainage _**you will provide specialist infrastructure planning expertise, lead and support the development and delivery of complex strategic infrastructure planning projects and services for Council’s flood mitigation and drainage infrastructure networks within a flood risk management framework.

Within the team you will focus on the development and delivery of long term planning for managing flood risk and the stormwater quantity infrastructure networks to support various programs of work, review and develop major infrastructure strategies & ensure resilience of existing and future communities.

You will build high level relationships across a range of diverse internal and external stakeholders and engage with relevant State agencies to ensure quality infrastructure network service outcomes are achieved.

**About you**:
We are seeking someone who has experience in providing strategic advice in line with local government legislation and infrastructure planning principles and best practices. You will have knowledge of infrastructure outcomes for local government infrastructure networks, urban form and financial sustainability

You will have comprehensive experience in complex flood and drainage infrastructure planning, strategy and policy development activities, experience in the project management and experience in the development and maintenance of WBMN and TUFLOW models.

You will have excellent communication skills and the ability to build strong professional relationships with a wide variety of internal and external stakeholders.

Your written capability will be well refined with practiced skills to develop and deliver technical reports and proposals in a clear and concise manner.
