**BAT Australia is currently seeking an External Engagement Manager to bolster our team.**

Purpose Statement: As the External Engagement Manager, your primary responsibility will be to lead the execution of BAT Australia’s regulatory strategy, ensuring alignment with our business objectives. You will play a pivotal role in encouraging a sustainable regulatory environment, particularly by championing anti-illicit trade measures. Additionally, you will provide crucial support for local and regional reporting processes.

**Key Accountabilities**:
**Business**:

- Keep abreast of Federal, State, and Territory policy changes pertaining to fiscal and regulatory controls, aligning them with BAT Australia’s company goals.
- Identify and pursue strategic opportunities for BAT Australia to communicate its evolving business landscape to external stakeholders, emphasizing our commitment to A Better Tomorrow principles.

**Collaboration and Communication**:

- Collaborate with the Corporate and Regulatory Affairs (CORA) team to achieve key milestones in priority campaigns.
- Work cross-functionally within the organization and the CORA team to inform key stakeholders about proposed regulatory changes, prioritize necessary actions, and provide regular progress updates.

**Qualifications and Skills**:

- 5 to 8 years of experience in political, media, and corporate affairs issues.
- A deep understanding of government processes and regulatory affairs.
- Proven experience in managing stakeholders in contentious and intricate situations.
- Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to influence and engage diverse audiences on regulatory priorities.
- Proficiency in negotiation, influencing, and relationship-building, both internally and externally.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly in PowerPoint and presentation development.
- Strong analytical, tactical, and planning abilities, coupled with creative problem-solving skills.
- Demonstrated strategic and leadership capabilities.
- A business-centric mentality with a comprehensive understanding of the industry's dynamics and complexities.
- Ability to translate abstract concepts into actionable strategies.
