**About the role**

Mater Hospital Brisbane is seeking a **Gastroenterology** **Principal House Officer** to join the team on a full time, maximum term basis for 12 months commencing in **February 2026**.

The PHO for gastroenterology provides supervised consultative and inpatient gastroenterology and hepatology services at Mater Hospital Brisbane and will participate in providing mentorship for junior medical staff and interdisciplinary teams in quality improvement programs, continuing medical education, clinical teaching and research activities with the Mater Health Services.

**$65.53 - $71.98 per hour** plus 12% superannuation and**access to not-for-profit salary packaging up to $15,900** +**access to many staff benefits

**What you’ll be doing**
- Role Specific Expectations_
- Provide consultative and inpatient gastroenterology and hepatology services including an on call after hours roster
- Manage patient admitted under gastroenterology
- Working with senior nursing and the wider multidisciplinary team to deliver care
- Administration and follow-up of MDTs as required
- Participate in clinical research including clinical trials and investigator-initiated research projects and audit

**About you**
- Essential qualifications _
- A basic medical degree registrable with the medical Board of Queensland.
- Registration as a medical practitioner without conditions with AHPRA
- Eligible for advanced training in chosen specialty or have completed specialist requirements
