Your position is primarily based at Lismore, NSW but you may be required to travel across the NSW Far North Coast region and to work at other sites during the course of your employment.

**Role Summary**
Working as part of a team, and under the supervision of the Manager, the role will include the provision of case management, information, and advocacy to people with support and housing needs, who are homeless or at risk of homelessness. Under direction from the Manager, the role will be required to establish and maintain effective referral networks, with the goal of ensuring a range of services and products are accessible to clients, to prevent homelessness.
Provision of client support is to be within a culturally safe framework, utilising principles of person-centred strengths-based practice.
**Selection criteria**
**_Essential_**
1. Relevant qualifications in social science or related field and/or relevant equivalent case worker experience in supporting those experiencing barriers to stable housing.
2. Demonstrated experience in case coordination of people with complex support needs.
3. An understanding of the private rental/social housing market and knowledge of the rights of clients as tenants.
4. Sound administrative skills in maintaining case notes, updating data systems, and effectively managing time.
5. An understanding of, or demonstrated ability, to work with human service agencies.
6. A thorough understanding of culturally sensitive practices when working with members of the Aboriginal community.
7. An ability to use initiative, be self-motivated, and actively contribute within a team.
8. Good knowledge of the use of Microsoft and database programs.
9. An understanding of the issues facing Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people.
10. Ability to communicate sensitively to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people.
**Additional requirements**
1. Evidence of full COVID vaccination
2. Current police check undertaken by the Community Gateway
3. Current Working with Children Check
4. Current driver’s license
5. This is a role where being Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander is a genuine occupational requirement.
