**Position Information**:
Thirlmere Public School has served its semi-rural community since 1888. The school is strongly supported by a committed and hard-working P&C Association who provide ongoing support both financially and physically. The school has 48 students who identify as Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander. There are 15 mainstream classes from K-6.
Our school strives to ensure all children reach their potential through the provision of an engaging and challenging curriculum. A dedicated and committed staff continually strive to improve their pedagogy and practice through engagement with continuous professional learning and mentoring. This supports students to achieve their best both academically and socially/emotionally. The strategic directions of our school over the next four years include: Growth and Attainment, Wellbeing and Engagement, and Quality Teaching and Learning. These were determined following a rigorous analysis and consultation process. Students requiring additional support are well catered for with a chaplain, counsellor, learning and support teaching team, school learning support officers, external interventionists and through strategies and adjustments within the context of the classroom. Staff and students are supported by distributed leadership at all levels. Students are provided opportunity to engage in a variety of leadership opportunities in Year 6 and a Student Representative Council meets regularly to bring student voice to school decision making.
All staff participate in regular Collaborative Inquiry days led by our Assistant Principals, where they design programs, evaluate data trends across the school and engage in quality professional learning.
Thirlmere Public School provides a strong extracurricular program including band, ukelele, drums, recorder, percussion, choir, dance and public speaking. ATSI students are supported to learn about and celebrate their history and culture through our 'Culture Club'. The school has a strong involvement in a wide variety sports and children are provided opportunity to participate in PSSA sporting events.
**Selection Criteria**:

- Highly visible and collaborative leader, who promotes a culture of belonging and high expectations to strengthen positive partnerships within the school community.
- Demonstrated ability to work with the leadership team to utilise student performance data and lead stage teams to improve teacher practice in the Curriculum Reform, as well as demonstrated experience in working collaboratively on the Strategic Improvement Plans.
- Proven ability to lead and authentically embed technology within and across the school setting to improve the engagement of staff, students and community.
- An open, visible and approachable leader with outstanding organisational, communication and interpersonal skills who builds authentic relationships with all members of a diverse school community.
**General Selection Criteria**:
1. Successful teaching experience with capacity to initiate improvement in teaching, learning and classroom practice
- 2. Knowledge of curriculum, assessment and student welfare with the ability to lead and design quality, inclusive teaching and learning programs- 3. Educational leadership skills to build the capacity and manage the performance of individuals and teams- 4. Well developed communication and interpersonal skills with the capacity to build relationships and engage students, staff and parents- 5.
