Join our team as a Disability Support Worker

We are currently looking for Disability Support Workers in the Singleton LGA. Here at IDS, we celebrate the uniqueness and abilities of every individual. We offer a wide range of support services, including social and community access, assistance with daily living, transport, short term accommodation, supported independent living and personal and self-care.

Responsibilities include (but not limited to):

- Provide one-on-one support to individuals with disabilities in their daily activities, including personal care, household tasks, and community outings.
- Assist individuals in developing and achieving their goals, promoting independence and self-determination.
- Foster a supportive and inclusive environment that respects the rights and dignity of all individuals.
- Maintain accurate documentation of support provided and any changes in the individual's needs or preferences.

Qualifications:

- Driver’s licence and a reliable, comprehensively insured car
- Current first aid and CPR
- Police check
- Working with children check
- Cert III in Disability or working towards
- Full availability with the potential to work weekends and overnight shifts.
- Flexibility to adapt to changing needs and schedules.
- Compassion and an empathetic attitude towards individuals with disabilities.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- Willingness to undergo relevant training and professional development.
- Previous experience in disability support or a related field is desirable but not essential.

**Job Type**: Part-time

Pay: $33.00 - $66.00 per hour

Expected hours: No less than 10 per week

Schedule:

- Afternoon shift
- Day shift
- Evening shift
- Morning shift
- Night shift
- Weekend availability

Licence/Certification:

- First Aid Certification (preferred)
- Working with Children Check (preferred)
- National Police Certificate (preferred)
- Driver Licence (required)
- Comprehensive Car Insurance and Registration (required)

Work Authorisation:

- Australia (required)
