- Deliver best practice statutory casework services to young people through the implementation of a standardised risk assessment tool and intervention skills to develop, facilitate, implement and evaluate intervention culturally appropriate intervention (including departmental programs ART and CHART) in accordance with relevant legislation, strategic objectives, policies and contemporary best practice. Identify individual case needs, appropriate programs and services to address those needs and ongoing management of cases to ensure clients have maximum opportunities to address their offending behaviour whilst maintaining positive self-development opportunities for young people in accordance with relevant legislation, policies, practices and procedures. Foster an environment that enables external involvement and access, and internal practices that provide as far as possible for normalised living and working environments in the centre. Actively participate in the suicide risk assessment process for young people and ensure this information and information on specific case management issues are incorporated into a Single case plan for all young people. Participate productively and communicate effectively as a member of a multi-disciplinary team to develop, coordinate and monitor the involvement of other staff and external agencies in the provision of welfare, behavioural management, assessment and case management services. Undertake a range of record and information management tasks including maintenance of case records (including completion of daily case notes), preparation of reports, performance reporting and data entry to ensure casework and accountability. Actively participate in training and professional development activities to develop, maintain and enhance knowledge and competencies to ensure that service delivery is based on contemporary, evidence based, best practice principles and is consistent with current practice trends and departmental objectives. Liaise with internal and external stakeholders, particularly Child Safety Service Centres and Youth Justice Service Centres, Courts, legal representatives, police, families and relevant community agencies and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander agencies, for the purposes of enhancing and discussing case planning, reviews, legal issues and arrangement of post-detention services.
