Salary Range: $88,923 - $92,670 + Attractive Superannuation

The Income Support Branch (ISB) is one of five branches that operate under the umbrella of the Client Benefits Division. It provides a quality and timely service to eligible veterans and their families to ensure an appropriate level of income support.

It delivers the Government’s social policy and support agenda through the administration of various means-tested benefits and allowances.

**Duties**
- Investigate complex casework matters and exercise delegations as appropriate, and investigate ministerial requests, fraud referrals and complaints
- Answer complex enquiries from the veteran community, liaise with a range of other external and internal stakeholders on Income Support matters and provide specialist advice to managers
- Comply with DVA record keeping and operational reporting requirements under direction from the Team Leader and senior staff
- Adhere to individual Work Force Manager (WFM) schedule to ensure adequate telephone coverage through the full range of income support business hours
- Participate and/or facilitate training, e-learning, team briefs, workshops and other change activities, when required
- Provide mentoring, guidance and technical advice to other team members
- Actively participate in the Performance Feedback Process and IS Coaching sessions
- Work collaboratively with the team and model the behaviours of the APS Code of Conduct
- Build relationships and networks
- Contribute to business improvement
- Contribute to a positive, highly functional team environment.

**Eligibility**
- Under section 22(8) of the Public Service Act 1999, employees must be Australian citizens to be employed in the Australian Public Service (APS).
- All applicants external to DVA offered employment will be required to successfully undergo a pre-engagement screening check, even if they have a security clearance. The screening check is conducted in accordance with the Australian Government Protective Security Policy Framework requirements.

**Notes**

Where a non-ongoing position is offered, the role will be filled for an initial specified term of up to18 months.

A merit pool of suitable applicants may be created which may be used to fill future ongoing and non-ongoing vacancies should they become available over the next 18 months.
