**The Role**
You will be based **Hume, ACT**, and **supervise all workshop operations**. You will look after heavy vehicles, forklifts, compactors and plant machinery. In this **hands‑on leadership** role you will supervise our internal team and coordinate the efforts of subcontractors.

**What You’ll Do**
- **Lead your team** with hands‑on guidance and effective mentoring
- **Quickly diagnose and repair** our modern diesel trucks, forklifts, compactors, and plant equipment
- **Prioritize urgent breakdowns** to minimize downtime in a fast-paced environment
- **Schedule and coordinate maintenance**, ensuring all machinery remains service-ready and compliant
- **Manage procurement and inventory**, raise POs, order parts, track stock, and oversee admin
- **Maintain accurate records** of fleet logs, maintenance history, and compliance documentation
- **Serve as the key liaison** for suppliers, contractors, logistics, and operations teams
- **Enforce safety & compliance protocols**, including inductions, procedures, and contractor oversight

**What You Bring**
- **Qualified diesel mechanic** with an **HR driver’s license** (mandatory)
- Demonstrated experience with **heavy vehicles and plant machinery**:

- Strong **procurement and inventory management** skills
- Competency with **maintenance management systems** and basic IT tools
- A **calm and adaptable** approach under pressure
- Proven **leadership experience**, managing both employees and subcontractors
- Excellent **communication and stakeholder liaison** abilities
