The Strategic Policy section is the Bureau's focal point for strategy and policy advice, policy proposals, government policy processes, and environmental scanning and futures work.

As an APS6 Strategic Policy Officer you will have an aptitude for making strategic linkages, cutting through complex policy and technical matters, and navigating ambiguity. Your immediate team will be small but agile, and you will often engage with stakeholders from all areas of the Bureau and a range of other Australian Government departments. Your policy and strategy support will enable Australia's national weather, climate, oceans and water agency to deliver impact and value for all Australians.
