**Role Description/Criteria**

The successful applicant will demonstrate:

- an energy and enthusiasm to plan and implement a P-6 curriculum for Physical Education, that is relevant, challenging and enjoyable
- a commitment to contemporary learning and teaching practices with an ability to create a vibrant learning climate that engages and empowers students
- a preparedness to self-reflect to determine impact of teaching
- effective practice to promote positive behaviours for learning coupled with social emotional learning strategies
- working collaboratively as part of a professional learning community and autonomously
- an ability to build positive relationships with all members of the school community.

Special Requirements
- current VIT registration
- a commitment to, and a respect for the Catholic identity of the school
- knowledge of how Catholic life is lived out at the school, e.g. prayer, sacraments, parish life, etc
- accreditation to teach in a Catholic school or a willingness to undertake accreditation to teach in a Catholic school
- understanding of Berry Street wellbeing for learning model a benefit
- experience in and practical understanding of differentiated learning whereby all students within a classroom can learn effectively, regardless of differences in ability
- a willingness to be open and responsive to new learning
- excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- compliance with St John's Child Safety Standards and policies in accordance with the Victorian Government's Ministerial Order No. 870.
