The Victorian Institute of Forensic Medicine (VIFM) is an independent statutory authority governed by the Victorian Institute of Forensic Medicine Act 1985 (the VIFM Act). It is part of the Justice portfolio of the Victorian Government.

**About the Role**:
The Case Management Services Team is responsible for records management and case management including management of records systems and report production, and forensic stenography services.
The Forensic Stenography and Records Officer is responsible for providing stenographic services, records management duties, filing and retrievals, along with administrative, secretarial and reception services.

**Some of your duties will include**:

- Undertaking all records management processes including typing, tracking, archiving, accessing records and dealing with information requests for all areas within Forensic Services.
- Retrieving and tracking case records (onsite and offsite) as requested.
- Providing stenographic (medical audio typing/transcription) services to support the production of highly confidential medico-legal, pathology including histology and analytical reports.

**About You**:

- Demonstrated experience in medical stenography (audio typing/transcription), including knowledge and understanding of medical and scientific terminology (particularly pathology).
- Audio typing proficiency of 70-80 word per minute.
- Well-developed written and verbal communication skills including the ability to provide accurate and detailed work, ensuing that written communication adheres to communication guidelines and protocols.
