Overview / Responsibilities:
Wood is currently seeking a
**Commercial Advisor** in order to grow its Perth Minerals, Metals, & Life Sciences team.

Wood is at the forefront of engineering solutions for a net zero future. A key component of decarbonising the critical minerals required for this revolution. Wood is currently delivering critical metals projects (Battery and Magnet metals) all over the world, including Copper, Lithium, Vanadium, Rare Earths, and Base Metals projects.

As Wood continues to grow and diversify to meet the demands of an ever-changing world, the commercial function plays a leading role in ensuring we unlock our full potential, capture the value we create, and are correctly rewarded for this by our clients. Working in our newly fitted offices in the Perth CBD, we have an onsite gym with five-star end of trip facilities.

The Commercial functions vision is: realising returns, managing risk, maximising opportunities.

Key duties and responsibilities include:

- Maximise commercial performance while managing business / project risk (pre and post-contract)
- Ensure compliance with relevant commercial/contracting policies
- Resolution of disputes / claims and cash collection issues
- Embedding effective commercial governance and assurance across the sub-Business Group / Project Portfolio of Projects
- Supporting the tender governance process for the sub-Business Group
- Contract administration, including correspondence management, management of change and the development / implementation of commercial strategies and profit improvement plans in accordance with client contracts and Woods policies and procedures
- Oversee the preparation and analysis of inputs to key contract and internal project reporting requirements

Skills / Qualifications:
What will set you apart from other applicants will be previous experience within a similar industry - ie, engineering consultancy or construction - with exposure to supporting the governance and assurance of commercial policies and processes within the Projects and Commercial teams.

You will also have:

- Degree in Quantity Surveying, Law, or Business Studies, along with appropriate professional qualification (preferred)
- Between 3 and 10 years of relevant experience in a similar role
- Good working knowledge and experience in commercial administration and procedures
- Experience in drafting and interpretation of commercial documentation
- Excellent communication skills, written, oral, and presentation
- Ability to work as part of a team
- Ability to prioritise key tasks and solve problems for the team
