Male Swim Instructor

As a Swimming Instructor, you’ll work closely with individuals living with disabilities to create **tailored swimming lessons** aligned with their unique needs and NDIS goals. You’ll play a vital role in helping participants build water confidence, independence, and essential life skills in a fun and safe environment.

**Key Responsibilities**
- Plan and deliver **inclusive, individualised swimming lessons**.
- Adapt teaching methods to suit different **abilities, learning styles, and communication needs**.
- Promote **water safety, confidence, and independence** through engaging aquatic activities.
- Collaborate with participants, families, support coordinators, and allied health teams to align programs with **NDIS goals**.
- Maintain **high safety standards**, including risk assessments and emergency response readiness.
- Track and report on participant progress in line with person-centered planning.

**What you'll need**
- AUSTSWIM or SWIM Australia **Swimming Instructor qualification**:

- AUSTSWIM Teacher of Aquatics - Access and Inclusion or SWIM Australia **SAT-LWD certification** (or willingness to obtain)
- **Current CPR certification**:

- **Valid Working with Children Check (WWCC)** or Blue Card
- Understanding of the **NDIS and person-centered approaches**:

- Excellent communication, empathy, and adaptability
- Strong **emergency response and risk management skills.**

Pay: $60.00 - $70.00 per hour

Expected hours: 2 - 6 per week
