Male Swim Instructor

As a Swimming Instructor, you'll work closely with individuals living with disabilities to create tailored swimming lessons aligned with their unique needs and NDIS goals. You'll play a vital role in helping participants build water confidence, independence, and essential life skills in a fun and safe environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver inclusive, individualised swimming lessons.
• Adapt teaching methods to suit different abilities, learning styles, and communication needs.
• Promote water safety, confidence, and independence through engaging aquatic activities.
• Collaborate with participants, families, support coordinators, and allied health teams to align programs with NDIS goals.
• Maintain high safety standards, including risk assessments and emergency response readiness.
• Track and report on participant progress in line with person-centered planning.

What you'll need

• AUSTSWIM or SWIM Australia Swimming Instructor qualification
• AUSTSWIM Teacher of Aquatics – Access and Inclusion or SWIM Australia SAT-LWD certification (or willingness to obtain)
• Current CPR certification
• Valid Working with Children Check (WWCC) or Blue Card
• Understanding of the NDIS and person-centered approaches
• Excellent communication, empathy, and adaptability
• Strong emergency response and risk management skills.

Job Type: Casual

Pay: $60.00 – $70.00 per hour

Expected hours: 2 – 6 per week

Work Location: In person
