**Key Responsibilities**:

- Reflect the Company’s core values in your conduct and everything you do.
- Support the Executive Chef on maintaining or building on Althea by Zin’s reputation and required standard.
- Understand Althea by Zin’s philosophy and reflect these in your conduct and work product.
- Understand and retain the information given to you by the Head Baker on the Company’s food & wine products and services across the group of businesses.
- Develop and prepare a variety of artisan bread, or other sweet goods in line with Althea by Zin’s philosophy and to the standard required to maintain or build on Althea by Zin’s reputation and standing.
- Ensure that production targets are met and that the quality and consistency of each food item you produce meets Althea by Zin standard.
- Seek to deliver your orders within the timeframe required and collaborate on practical solutions when you know it may not be possible.
- Ensure that you maintain food hygiene and safety standards and act responsibility when addressing or resolving any reports of failures or breaches related to your work product.
- Ensure that ingredients and products are rotated properly in accordance with FIFO standards (first in, first out).
- When asked, collaborate and plan new items that refresh our menus and help to engage the interest of our customers.
- Monitor stock of ingredients used in your area and ensure that you have sufficient supply to deliver the service requirements of your area.
- Plan for upcoming service requirements and inform the Executive Chef with adequate notice on stock replenishment so there is sufficient supply prior to service preparation.
- Monitor and check the quality and condition of equipment and devices used in your work area, and work proactively with the Executive chef to ensure these are maintained or repaired in line with the Company’s policies and directions.
- Actively work within the team to maintain a clean, hygienic, and safe work environment.
- Minimise wastage and maximise the use of all company provided resources.
- Support the business with recording all stock transfers by providing accurate and timely information when required.
- Communicate effectively and proactively with other areas of the operation to ensure the objectives of your scope of responsibility are met.
- Identify when it is appropriate to bring concerns to the Executive Chef or higher.
- Be ready and willing to provide guidance or support to other Bakers or junior staff when needed.
- Share your knowledge and help train others to deliver your section, so they can help or support you when you require absence from work.
- Take breaks when instructed and report your time at work accurately and according to the Company’s requirements and directions on timekeeping.
- Maintain a clean and presentable appearance while working and whenever you might be identifiable as working for the Company or in your capacity as Althea by Zin’s Artisan Baker.
- Support other Kitchen and Restaurant operations when needed, including the temporary support of other Pastry Chefs or Chefs to cover approved leave or unplanned absences.
- Comply with nutrition, sanitation, and safety standards and regulations, and the Company’s policies and directions of minimising wastage and breakages.
- Immediately report to the Executive Chef or other appropriate Senior Manager when notices of significance are received from any regulatory authority or body (including the police).
- Work collaboratively to maintain a safe working environment for everyone and be supportive of the Company’s objectives on work health and safety.

**Qualifications, Skills and Work Experience Required**
- Minimum 2 years’ experience as a Baker in a respectable establishment or operation.
- Demonstrable ability and skill in producing a range of artisan bread products and have a working understanding of pastry making.
- Preferably a combination of international and Australian experience but at the very least, an understanding of international cooking and service styles is also desirable but not essential.
- Working knowledge of baking and creating products that meet dietary or allergen requirements without significant loss in quality or consistency
- Able to provide a portfolio of previous work or demonstrate their skills or capabilities
- Fluent expression and comprehension in the English language
