**The Role**

Duties include:

- Under limited direction, perform complex compliance assessment work in accordance with applicable legislation, policies and procedures and work to agreed priorities and outcomes.
- Assist in preparing compliance assessment reports outlining outcomes and developing appropriate compliance responses.
- Research and provide advice on regulatory compliance obligations based on professional judgement, evaluating risks and in the context of a complex and changing environment.
- Provide guidance on the management of operational compliance activities and business planning including the review and improvement of business activities.
- Draft, use and review compliance assessment and regulatory procedures, practices and frameworks.
- Assist with the maintenance and review of compliance case management systems.
- Tailor personal communication style and language according to the audience’s level of knowledge, skill and experience to educate, promote and encourage compliant behaviour.
- Build and sustain effective relationships with team members, and actively participate in team work and group activities.
- Take the initiative to suggest improvements to compliance and regulatory policies and procedures to ensure appropriate performance against best practice.
- Assist with the development of briefings for a wide range of stakeholders, including departmental staff, ministers, industry, academia and researchers.
