Ecologist

We’re looking for a passionate experience Ecologist to join our large team of industry-leading ecological experts in Sydney, Canberra or Newcastle (hybrid).

**What you’ll do**:
You will provide ecological assessments and advice related mostly to large infrastructure project approvals and natural resource management projects, while you continue to develop your skills in:

- Delivering rehabilitation, monitoring, biodiversity surveys, impact and offset assessments and ecological management plans
- Conducting environmental analyses and mapping, research and field surveys
- Writing technical environmental reports, proposals and tenders
- Planning and managing projects with a range of complexity and scale
- Building relationships with clients while actively pursuing new business opportunities
- Ability to work independently with guidance
- Mentoring junior staff and assisting with their professional development (senior role)

**About you**:
You will also bring the following experience and attributes:

- Previous consulting experience in biodiversity impact assessment and offsetting in NSW/ACT
- Significant field experience (i.e. BAM and BBAM, Ecological monitoring, plant species and threatened ecological community identification, ecological data collection and analysis, managing project teams, etc.)
- PCTs and vegetation identification training and botany skills
- BAM Accreditation would be highly regarded
- Some experience in GIS, field mapping and developing and managing spatial datasets
- Knowledge of NSW BAM and State/Commonwealth regulatory frameworks and policy
- Have a passion for ecology, conservation, biodiversity and natural resources management
