**About the company**
CareRITEis a NDIS Registered Community Support Service Provider based in Herston with a focus on supporting participants living with mental illness to lead an independent and positive life.
We provide services to our clients located in Brisbane and Logan areas.
We are actively looking for reliable and committed male support workers to join our team for providing one-on-one services to one of our male clients in their homes and in the community.
**About the Role**
On a day-to-day basis, you will be:
- Providing one-on-one support in day-to-day living as per the care plan, ensuring that they have maximum opportunity for developing independence.
- Providing opportunities for choice and control and participation in matters relating to domestics and self-care, as well as facilitating access to community services.
- Carrying out and promoting positive routines in a cooperative respectful and flexible manner, which are meaningful and purposeful to the participant.
- Facilitating community inclusion and participation to establish and maintain relationships and interests through access to community activities, venues, and services.
- Following Positive Behaviour Support Plans for the participant along with monitoring the safety and well-being aspects
- Reporting any concerns to the supervisor and appropriately managing incident reports
- Working as part of a team.
Duties may include all aspects of assistance with daily living and personal care, including:
- Light domestic support and household tasks
- Assistance or preparation of meals
- Support with assistive technology
- Support to attend appointments and grocery shopping
- Assistance with personal care
- Assistance with medication prompting
- Support the community participation and social support
All Support Staff are required to have a valid (or the ability to obtain):
- First Aid certification
- CPR (annual)
- National Police Check (less than 12 months old)
- Ability to successfully obtain NDIS Worker Screening Check
- Current Australian Driver's License
- Own reliable vehicle with comprehensive car insurance
- Certificate III in Individual Support or equivalent
Preferred but not essential:
- Manual handling training
- Medication training
- Industry experience/experience working with challenging behaviour
