**Responsibilities**:
- The responsibilities of this position will be:
- Provide first aid and quality care to staff, students and visitors as required.
- Triage student medical needs effectively and efficiently given the large number of students who attend First Aid this is important
- Ensure first aid supplies are kept replenished.
- Ensure a termly stock take of first aid kits is undertaken on a regular basis.
- Liaising with relevant staff regarding student wellbeing/medical conditions as necessary and provide necessary training/support in relation to ongoing medical needs
- Liaising with parents regarding a students ongoing and immediate medical needs
- Ensure Health support plans are filled in with Student details when new health care needs are identified and handed to the principal.
- Maintain student medications and ensure all administered are recorded on the Department Medical log.
- Entering Injury Report Data on to Compass and notify parent when necessary.
- Support school events: Organising first aid supplies for excursions, camps and whole-school activities.
- Arranging emergency procedures when cases arise.
- Be familiar with and enter reportable incidents onto edusafe plus and notify Principal team and BM of notifiable incidents in accordance with Worksafe.
- Maintain the first aid room in a high standard of hygiene.
- Liaising with the Occupational Health and Safety Officer when appropriate.
- Reviewing and replenish first aid kits located in various locations around the school to ensure all items are within expiration date and are fully stocked.
- All new/future students medical needs/plans are obtained prior to start date.
- Remind parents of current students that their current plan requires a review.
- Developing, maintaining registers for the following requirements:
- Students with anaphylaxis
- Epipen expiry dates (includes student and school EpiPens)
- Staff with mandatory anaphylaxis training
- Staff with first aid training
- Identify and organise First aid training in liaison with Buisness Manager.
- Undertaking relevant professional development as required
- Ensure you keep yourself up to date with department policies/guidelines
- Other duties as allocated by Business Manager and/or Principal
- Act as First Aid Warden during emergency situations and training drills.
