**Your role and responsibilities**:
In this role, you will have the opportunity to support the sales organization and its customers in determining the most technically appropriate and cost-effective solutions and preparing technical descriptions for the applied products and technology. Each day, you will serve as a key technical resource in the assigned area. You will also showcase your expertise by providing technical support during technical meetings, product presentations, and negotiations. The work model for the role is: hybrid #Hybid This role is contributing to the Electrification Distribution Solutions business in Australia. Your role and responsibilities: - Offering technical advice and providing comment on enquiry specifications for customers, channels, and Sales Engineers regarding ABB’s switchgear and compact substations portfolio. - Overseeing and leading the analytics and diagnostic studies to determine the most suitable technical solution to meet customer needs. - Proposing the most suitable technical solutions for complex enquiries. - Preparing and delivering technical presentations and demonstrations on complex product issues, to both internal staff and customers. - Leading and mentoring a multidisciplinary engineering team, ensuring alignment with project goals, fostering technical excellence, and promoting a collaborative and high-performance work culture. - Driving team accountability and continuous improvement, while managing workload distribution, coaching engineers, and supporting professional development within the team. **Qualifications for the role**:
- You hold a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or equivalent, with proven experience in power systems and switchgear technologies, showcasing a strong academic and practical foundation.
- You will have a minimum of 10 years’ experience in the electrical engineering field, demonstrating advanced skills in the design, implementation, and lifecycle management of Medium Voltage (MV) switchgear systems, particularly within the Electrification Distribution Solutions business.
- You will be highly versed in interpreting electrical specifications, single line and schematic diagrams, and have had exposure to interpreting contractual terms and conditions, support bid/no bid analyses and decisions, leading the risk review process.
- You are passionate about technical problem-solving and collaborative innovation, and you are captivated by the challenge of delivering safe, efficient, and sustainable power distribution solutions.
- You are at ease communicating in English, both in technical documentation and cross-functional team environments.
- Ideally you will hold current electrical engineering certifications, valid in Australia, and possess the necessary work rights.
