**Procurement Officer (Civil Construction)**

**About the Role**

An opportunity has become available for a Procurement Officer to join the WEM team. Based in Bella Vista and reporting to the Commercial Manager, this key role will manage WEM’s procurement requirement and supplier and subcontractor relationships, facilitating the best possible outcomes with respect to time, cost, safety and quality for the business.

**Duties**

In this position, you will:

- Source, evaluate and maintain supplier and sub-contractor relationships based on quality, cost, safety and delivery time.
- Develop and implement procurement strategies and procedures to ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.
- Work collaboratively with site management teams to coordinate and manage sub-contractor engagement.
- Negotiate contracts and agreements with suppliers and sub-contractors to ensure the best outcomes for WEM.
- Work with the Commercial Manager on business forecasting regarding material usage for future works.
- Review purchase orders to ensure accuracy and completeness of information.
- Maintain accurate records of all procurement activities, including purchase orders, invoices, and contracts.
- Provide advice and support to project teams for the effective management of subcontractor and supplier payments in accordance with contract terms.

**Skills and Experience**

We are looking for someone who has:

- Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Supply Chain Management or a related field.
- Previous experience with sourcing suppliers, negotiating contracts and managing supplier relationships will be highly regarded.
- Commitment to health, safety, environment and quality policies and procedures.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Strong relationship building, influencing and negotiation skills.
- Confident in the use of Microsoft office suite and in particular Microsoft Excel.
- Self-driven and highly motivated
- Desire to be part of a "can do", vibrant and dynamic team.
