We are seeking a highly motivated and compassionate Disability Support Worker to join our team, providing dedicated support to a client within the vibrant Malvern East community. This rewarding part-time role focuses on empowering our client to actively participate in their preferred social and recreational activities, primarily revolving around movies and music/disco events.

About the Role

This position offers 15 hours per week, structured across **Mondays, Thursdays, and Saturdays, from 9 am to 2 pm**. As a proactive and enthusiastic individual, you will be responsible for:

- **Facilitating Community Participation**: Planning and organising engaging outings and activities within the Malvern East area, with a focus on movies and music/disco events.
- **Person-Centred Support**: Providing compassionate, reliable, and dedicated assistance that promotes the client's independence and overall well-being.
- **Activity Coordination**: Ensuring all planned activities are accessible, safe, and tailored to the client's preferences and needs.

To be successful in this role, you will be a dedicated professional with a genuine passion for making a meaningful difference in the lives of people with disabilities. You will possess the following essential qualifications, experience, and attributes:

- **NDIS Knowledge**: A strong understanding of the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) framework and participant support requirements.
- **Specialised Experience (preferred)**: Experience in supporting NDIS participants with forensic disability, Alcohol and Other Drugs (AOD) issues, Behaviours of Concern, and psychosocial disabilities.
- **Local Expertise**: A comprehensive understanding of the Malvern East community and its diverse range of local activity options.
- **Communication & Organisation**: Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, coupled with strong organisational abilities to plan and execute engaging outings effectively.
- **Personal Attributes**: A positive, patient, and engaging personality, demonstrating empathy and a person-centred approach.
- **Documentation Skills**: The ability to complete detailed and accurate documentation in a timely manner.
