**THE OPPORTUNITY**
We're looking for a BI Technical Analyst/ Developer to join our Information Technology team based in Macquarie Park.
As a BI Technical Analyst/ Developer you will:
- Understanding and experience of cloud architecture, tools and processes for ingestion, storage and dissemination. Including batch and streaming solutions
- Develop well designed conceptual solutions and detailed technical design specifications, implementation plans and system documentation to meet business and operational requirements in line with architectural roadmap
- Implement and unit test high quality solutions utilising industry best practice standards
- Provide systems administration for key tools and technologies
- Manage code deployments, change control and support for monthly patching activities
- Work closely with the test team to input into the test strategy and planning for System Testing and/or User Acceptance Testing phases of the development lifecycle
- Provide input to all phases of the development lifecycle from high level solution estimates to planning and co-ordinating the scheduling and release of solutions across the environments
- Co-ordinate technical tasks with internal and/or external IT stakeholders to ensure technical dependencies and cross over are managed
- Provide ITIL based Third Level support including incident resolution, problem management, service request fulfilment, and change management as needed. Being on call as required. (Additional payment provided)
- Provide secondary or backup support for other members of the IT Solution Delivery team, with working technical knowledge of other IT systems
- Deliver high quality operational service to stakeholders, to ultimately ensure a positively strong and trusted relationship.
- Partner with other members of the IT team to ensure strong levels of teamwork exist for incident and problem management activities.
- Vendor engagement, including working directly with key vendors to ensure timely resolution of incidents.
- Actively seek to understand industry developments, in particular legal business systems, new features and functions within the business
**SKILLS, EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS**
To be successful in this role you will have:
- Strong technical background and successful experience utilising the Microsoft Technology Stack
- Microsoft SQL Server 2016/2017/2019
- BI Solution Design and Implementation utilising Microsoft BI stack - SSIS, SSAS and SSRS but fluent in cloud tools such as Microsoft Synapse
- Experience in design and development of ETL solutions and python scripting for cloud
- Experience in design and development of reporting solutions, dashboards, and advanced analytics
- Working knowledge of IT Service Management following the ITIL methodology for incident, problem, and change management
- Proven ability to manage stakeholder expectations including business system administrators, business users, architects, test lead/analysts, IT support functions and business stakeholders
- Strong ability to understand business needs and translate these into realistic IT solution-oriented requirements and designs
- Strong understanding of the Software Development lifecycle and change management principles - SDLC
- 8-10+ years of experience in software development with the Microsoft technology stack
- Graduate qualification or demonstrated equivalent experience in Information Technology, Computer Science, Programming or related qualification.
- Experience with IT software development and configuration, ideally with Microsoft technologies including Microsoft Devops
- Understanding of the software development processes e.g. Agile methodologies, CMMI
- Knowledge and experience in the following is desirable though not essential
- Python scripts
- Experience in design and implementation with Visualisation tools such as Power BI
- Streaming technologies
- NoSQL
