We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Assistant Coordinator for a wonderful not for profit service in the Surry Hills area. This role will also be an Educational Leader position giving you responsibility to facilitate program development that promote children’s educational journeys.

As the Assistant Coordinator you will support the Coordinator in the day-to-day management of the OSHC service. You will have the opportunity to step up into the role of the Responsible Person in the absence of the Coordinator (nominated supervisor).

It is important for the Assistant Coordinator/Educational Leader to be approachable, friendly, and respectful, as this role works together with the Coordinator in managing the team. You must possess strong leadership skills, as well as experience in an Educational Leader role, and be able to mentor staff on the floor.

This organisation will provide you with support to achieve your professional goals, including paid professional development and paid study leave. You will be surrounded by a team of diverse, fun-loving, and experienced Educators in the heart of the city who often love to go out for staff social events.

**Outline of the role**:

- Assistant Coordinator/Educational Leader. You will be the 2IC of the Service and provide support to the Coordinator.
- Part-time available, 25-30 hours per week.
- Flexible shifts. A mix of block and split shifts will be provided.
- Ample non-contact hours provided to ensure quality programs for children.
- Licenced for over 110 children.
- $28-$36 per hour, plus superannuation.
- Assist to manage the everyday operations of the Service, mentor staff on the floor, create programs, and engage with stakeholders, families, and children.
- Manage an enthusiastic, lively, and professional team of Educators.
- Work with families with a wide range of diverse needs.

- You will possess experience as an Educational Leader and have created engaging and diverse programs for an OSHC Service.
- A confident, flexible, and approachable leader, who is also professional, and compliance driven.
- Able to work with a diverse range of families to meet their differing needs.
- Works well in a team and can follow direction, implement tasks, and manage staff members to ensure the effective operation of the Service.
- A positive role model for children and other staff members.
- Able to engage all educators to contribute to the planning cycle and creation of programs each week.
- Loves being out on the floor to physically implement the program.
- Offers a high level of support to the Coordinator and works in tandem to meet shared goals for the Service.
- Able to engage with a wide range of stakeholders, community members, and families.
- Possesses current ‘**HLTAID004 **Provide an emergency first aid response in an education and care setting’ Certificate (or willingness to obtain).
- Possesses current ‘**CHCPRT001 **Identify and respond to children and young people at risk’ training (or willingness to obtain).
- Criminal History Check. Valid and current NSW Paid Working with Children Check.
