The City of Perth Parks Team is responsible for the preservation and management of 120 hectares of open parkland, including reserves, heritage gardens, pocket parks, and streetscapes, all in a CBD environment.

This position will actively assist with the establishment and maintenance of day-to-day horticultural, landscaping, and turf management while operating under the general direction of the Team Leader.

**As the Parks Operator, you will support the City by**:

- Operating a wide range of horticultural equipment and machinery, with the understanding that Occupational Health and Safety is your highest priority.
- Providing feedback on any faults/accidents or machinery maintenance requirements to the Supervisor or Team Leader.
- Supporting the philosophy and practice of rotating with other team members to ensure a multi-skilled approach.
- Assist with the preparation and planting of garden beds and landscapes as required.
- Mowing, brush-cutting and edging of parks, reserves and open spaces as required.

**Essential Criteria**
- Knowledge and experience in current horticulture practices and use of a wide range of horticultural equipment.
- Knowledge and understanding of safe working practices and Work Health & Safety issues.
- Well-developed interpersonal and communication (written and verbal) skills.
- ‘C’ Class drivers licence.
- Construction Induction Card (White / Blue Card).
- Cert II or higher in Horticulture (desirable).
- ‘MR’ Class Driver’s License (desirable).
