**About the role**:
Origin is currently recruiting for several roles that will be integral in embedding a simpler, more efficient more strategic procurement operating model at Origin. These positions will span several procurement category portfolios, including **Materials & Logistics**, **Corporate & Professional Services,**and** Operations & Maintenance services.**
The Category Lead is an influential leadership role in the procurement function. As an experienced leader and change agent, the incumbent provides organisational, cultural and strategic leadership as well as significant and demonstrable knowledge, experience, and expertise within the Procurement & Supply Chain discipline to the OPLT, guided by the Origin Values and Leadership Code.
**Key Responsibilities**
- Directly contribute to Origin's strategy by leading category plan development and driving commercial outcomes.
- Lead a team of procurement professionals in establishing the development of multiple category plans across a broad portfolio of spend in alignment with BU priorities and procurement capability.
- Proactively identify and quantify opportunities to reduce total cost across the supply chain.
- Develop and implement plans that incorporate change management and ensure business adoption.
- Embed and enhance the category management framework across Origin for consistency and alignment.
- Provide advice and ensure rigorous procurement processes, including strategic sourcing, supplier management and risk mitigation.
- Understand business cost drivers and market trends to deliver annual value targets.
- Lead, coach, and provide feedback to strengthen team performance and foster continuous improvement.
- Providing advice to and influencing senior business stakeholders and users to follow Origin processes including governance, risk mitigation and quality requirements.
**What will you bring?**
You will role model Origin’s values, be self-driven, with ability to be proactive and take initiative. A team player with ability to work collaboratively with a broad range of people across levels, building positive, productive working relationships.
- A self-reliant contributor with demonstrated expert-level experience in Supply/Category Management (7+ years).
- Hold an undergraduate degree in a relevant field such as Commerce, Law, or Engineering.
- Deep knowledge of market dynamics, processes, trends, and best practices within your accountable categories (e.g., logistics).
- Ability to grasp complex factors driving business value and constructively challenge business unit strategy.
- Proven ability to lead high-performing teams, build strong relationships, and influence stakeholders across the organisation.
- Highly developed written and verbal communication skills, able to present complex information clearly.
- Experience with SAP ERP systems and proficiency in contract management/procurement tools.
