Northrop Grumman Australia partners with the Royal Australian Air Force to provide through-life support for its fleet of C-27J Spartan Airlifter aircraft. The C-27J complements the Australian Defence Force’s existing Air Mobility fleet and provides airlift of people, equipment and supplies in Australia and our region.

The C-27J Technical Publications team is now seeking an experienced Technical Writer to be located in **Richmond, NSW** **or Amberley, QLD **and to support a high-profile platform well known for its humanitarian aid and disaster relief capabilities in our region.

**Key duties and responsibilities**:

- Produce technical manual updates or documents, using various sources of engineering, military, regulatory and manufacturers’ data.
- Perform all research needed to create technical manual updates or documents.
- Ensure output is consistent with company standards and satisfies the relevant Work Instructions and Procedure Manuals.
- Coordinate workflows and tasks required to create technical updates or documents and meets scheduled deadlines.
- Work directly with SME’s, cell leads, customers and management as needed to gather data and create technical manual updates or documents.
- Evaluate engineering drawings and other technical data as required and translate information into an understandable technical manual or document.
- Work closely with the Engineering department to ensure technical manual or document created meets DASR requirements.
- Review and proofread documents to ensure that work produced accurately reflects existing engineering data, following established grammatical and formatting standards.
- Update Interactive Electronic Technical Publications (IETP).

**Qualifications & Experience**:

- Experience in developing and authoring technical publications, as well as interfacing with operational and maintenance personnel in dynamic operational work environments.
- Aircraft Aviation trade Certificate IV or equivalent background.
- MS Office Software training.
- Ability to read and interpret Engineering drawings.
- Must be an Australian citizen with the ability to obtain and maintain a Defence security clearance.

Note: As a Defence security clearance is required for this role, applicants must be Australian Citizens. International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) are applicable, as such your nationality may be a factor in determining your suitability for this role.
